Passive rated walls are used to prevent vehicle intrusion. Nasatka offers custom-built walls to protect your facilities with from vehicle borne attacks.
The Patriot Barrier Wall, Patriot Knee Wall and Patriot Cable-Only Walls are tested, using a certified ASTM M50 barrier design. Though there are three distinct designs, they all share a hidden, vehicle-arresting cable system.
The cable system is comprised of two wire ropes, 1.5 inch in diameter, each running through a 4.5 inch conduit. The system is designed to protect a span of 85 ft. between the centers of the anchor posts. No concrete foundation is necessary along the length of the Patriot Wall itself.
The cables are attached to reinforced concrete posts at each end. These ends, or anchor posts, are 61.5-in. above ground and have a 10 ft. reinforced concrete foundation.
The Patriot Wall sits directly on the ground. Our patent-pending, passive barrier design does not require a full-length, concrete foundation and will not disturb underground infrastructure - this significantly reduces cost and installation time. There is less excavation, which minimizes hauling expenditures, and no foundation to reinforce, pour and cure. In most circumstances, less construction materials and labor could save a minimum of 40 percent in total construction cost over other types of M50 barriers.
The barrier's distinctive, destructive stopping power is derived from these creatively engineered anchor posts, or 'dead men', and interior wire cable system.
The Patriot Wall's concrete surface is designed to accept an infinite variety of custom finishes allowing construction professionals the freedom to complement any architectural style.
